Voluntary Project Expert metabadge defines the competence of implementing the volunteer management cycle in order to provide appropriate support for the volunteers and to facilitate their learning processes. It also demonstrates the ability to successfully collaborate with stakeholders and partners from local to international level and to implement effective project dissemination plans.

Voluntary Project Coordinator badge defines the ability to deal with volunteer programme administration requirements as well as to implement and monitor the volunteer management cycle in cooperation with the people involved.  
Learning Targets
  • Knowing Erasmus+ , EVS and European Solidarity Corps programmes
  • Knowing international voluntary programmes
  • Knowing the current trends within the volunteer sector
  • Knowing about the volunteer management cycle
 
  • Being able to design volunteer roles according to the mandate of your organization and develop position descriptions
  • Being able to recruit suitable volunteers
  • Being able to identify and reduce potential risks
  • Being able to provide administrative support and build a supportive network for volunteers
  • Being able to coordinate volunteers´ tasks and other people involved
  • Being able to design evaluation forms and write reports
 
  • Being open-minded
  • Being neutral and inclusive
  • Regarding difference as a learning opportunity
 

Participants have to successfully accomplish the following tasks before the BADU Open Badge will be issued.

Minimum standards:

  • Having successfully completed an entire learning activity (training course, seminar, online course, workshop etc.), a voluntary programme/internship
  • Self-evaluation
  • Assessment session with the trainer/mentor

 

  • Case Study
  • Conducted one workshop on the topic of the activity with youth within 2 months after the activity
  • Conducted critical incident analysis
  • Problem Solving and simulation games on the specific topic of the activity
  • Reflection exercises
  • Scored at least 80% on the final test

Volunteer Tutor badge demonstrates the ability to provide on-going personal support to young volunteers on an emotional, social and cultural level throughout the duration of their stay.

  • Knowing the current trends within the volunteer sector
 
  • Being able to help integrate the volunteers and make them feel welcome in the organisation
  • Being able to provide social and emotional support and to encourage volunteers to give feedback about their well-being in the organisation
  • Being able to mediate conflicts between the volunteer and the hosting organisation and provide opportunities for them
  • Being able to help the volunteer integrate into the local environment and culture 
  • Being able to acknowledge the efforts of the volunteer and communicate this recognition
 
  • Being open and approachable
  • Expressing appreciation for the volunteers’ work and effort
