Volunteers' Competence Advisor badge describes the ability to provide volunteers with the opportunity to define their aims, to reflect on their learning processes and to assess their competences.
Learning Targets
Knowing Erasmus+, EVS and European Solidarity Corps programmes as well as international voluntary programmes
Knowing the current trends within the volunteer sector
Knowing non-formal learning methodologies
Knowing about soft skill recognition in the labour market
Knowing about youth pass, Europass and other recognition systems
Being able to help integrate the volunteers and make them feel welcome in the organisation
Being able to provide social and emotional support and to encourage volunteers to give feedback about their well-being in the organisation
Being able to mediate conflicts between the volunteer and the hosting organisation and provide opportunities for them
Being able to help the volunteer integrate into the local environment and culture
Being able to acknowledge the efforts of the volunteer and communicate this recognition
Being open and approachable
Expressing appreciation for the volunteers’ work and effort
Participants have to successfully accomplish the following tasks before the BADU Open Badge will be issued.
Minimum standards:
Having successfully completed an entire learning activity (training course, seminar, online course, workshop etc.), a voluntary programme/internship
Self-evaluation
Assessment session with the trainer/mentor
Case Study
Conducted one workshop on the topic of the activity with youth within 2 months after the activity
Conducted critical incident analysis
Problem Solving and simulation games on the specific topic of the activity
