Responsible Economy Rookie badge demonstrates a basic understanding of private, politico-economic and business interdependency at local and EU level, and the ability to help young people understand and deal with the economic issues that affect them. 
Learning Targets
  • Understanding basic economic frameworks (trade deficit, budget deficit, monetary policy, banking regulation, financial markets, tax law)
  • Knowing about corporate social responsibility strategies
  • Knowing alternative economy concepts (community-based economics, alternative currency, basic income guarantee, post-growth)
 
  • Being able to develop a critical outlook regarding economic issues
  • Being able to deal with qualitative and quantitative data
  • Being able to communicate results concisely to a wide audience, including those with no training in economics
 
  • Being aware of the current economic system’s effects or possible consequences on people, communities and nature
  • Being aware of the economic impact of daily actions
 

Participants have to successfully accomplish the following tasks before the BADU Open Badge will be issued.

Minimum standards:

  • Having successfully completed an entire learning activity (training course, seminar, online course, workshop etc.), a voluntary programme/internship
  • Self-evaluation
  • Assessment session with the trainer/mentor

 

  • Case Study
  • Conducted one workshop on the topic of the activity with youth within 2 months after the activity
  • Conducted critical incident analysis
  • Problem Solving and simulation games on the specific topic of the activity
  • Reflection exercises
  • Scored at least 80% on the final test
