RASIM ADVOCATOR badge defines the ability to engage and work with RASIM (Refugees, Asylum Seekers, Immigrants, Migrants) youth and to utilise legal knowledge to consolidate a supportive network for them.
Learning Targets
Knowledge about international and national refugee and immigrants law & rights, and the protection system for asylum seekers (e.g. EU Common European Asylum System –CEAS)
Knowing about the countries of origin and about the central beliefs of the respective religious communities
Knowing the relevant bodies and procedures regarding RASIM youth
Knowing the main theories of racism and discrimination
Being able to recognise and understand the losses, stress, trauma and PTSD of RASIM youth
Being able to identify risk and protective factors
Culturally sensitive counselling skills
Being able to establish a supportive network for RASIM youth
Being able to promote an anti-racist public relation work regarding the target group
Showing a respectful attitude towards people from all cultures
Showing empathy
Being mentally resilient
Participants have to successfully accomplish the following tasks before the BADU Open Badge will be issued.Minimum standards:
Having successfully completed an entire learning activity (training course, seminar, online course, workshop etc.), a voluntary programme/internship
Self-evaluation
Assessment session with the trainer/mentor
Case Study
Conducted one workshop on the topic of the activity with youth within 2 months after the activity
Conducted critical incident analysis
Problem Solving and simulation games on the specific topic of the activity
