Youth Work Mediator
Youth Work Mediator badge demonstrates the ability to engage family members or other significant people to establish a supportive network for young people and provide counselling regarding institutional infrastructure and legal issues. 
Learning Targets
  • Knowing concepts of social work like biographical work
  • Knowing about institutional infrastructure and organisations working with families
 
  • Being able to treat family concerns with respect and sensitivity, while being aware of confidentiality issues and the boundaries that govern the youth/youth worker relationship;
  • Good communication skills and ability to adapt to different contexts
  • The ability to establish good relationships with different stakeholders and provide reliable support to families in various situations
  • Counselling skills regarding institutional infrastructure for youth and youth organizations
 
  • Being respectful and open-minded
  • Showing a strong commitment to young people and families as well as an understanding of the factors affecting their lives
 

Participants have to successfully accomplish the following tasks before the BADU Open Badge will be issued.

Minimum standards:

  • Having successfully completed an entire learning activity (training course, seminar, online course, workshop etc.), a voluntary programme/internship
  • Self-evaluation
  • Assessment session with the trainer/mentor

 

  • Case Study
  • Conducted one workshop on the topic of the activity with youth within 2 months after the activity
  • Conducted critical incident analysis
  • Problem Solving and simulation games on the specific topic of the activity
  • Reflection exercises
  • Scored at least 80% on the final test
